Pharmaceutical Chemistry is the backbone of drug discovery and development. Our department focuses on the design, synthesis, and characterization of new chemical entities (NCEs) with potential therapeutic value. We merge the principles of chemistry and biology to create safer and more effective medications.
Students receive hands-on training in synthetic chemistry, analytical techniques, and computer-aided drug design (CADD). We emphasize quality control and quality assurance, ensuring that future pharmacists understand the rigorous standards of the pharmaceutical industry.
Equipped with HPLC, UV-Visible Spectrophotometers, FTIR, and microwave synthesizers for advanced research.
Focus on targeted synthesis, green chemistry approaches, and molecular docking studies for new drug candidates.
The department actively collaborates with leading pharmaceutical analytical labs and API manufacturing units. This allows our students to work on real-world industry problems, participate in funded research projects, and gain practical insights into the drug approval process (FDA/CDSCO guidelines).
